[ Abstract ] For special multi-axle vehicle, frame is the main support structure of the chassis. Except for standing all load cases of superstructure, frame must have enough strength and stiffness for all driving conditions. As the heaviest assembly of the chassis, frame should be designed as light as possible. Take HTF eight-axle special vehicle as example, the ANSYS and WORKWENCH are used to perform the mechanic analysis and optimization for static and multi-dynamic load cases, in which the forces of driving condition come from dynamic analysis of whole vehicle. The frame structure is optimized considering mechanics characteristic of all load cases, the goal of lightest design is achieved.
